In a thrilling display of talent and determination, the No. 27 Iowa State Cyclones dominated their home opener at the Hilton Coliseum, securing two impressive victories against Brown and Iowa in the Iowa State Tri-Meet.

Cyclones Shine in All Events

The Cyclones, eager to bounce back from a close loss to No. 2 LSU in their season opener, showcased their skills across all disciplines, taking the lead in vault, beam, and floor exercises. Iowa State’s stellar performances in each event solidified their position as a force to be reckoned with in the gymnastics world.

Starting strong on the vault, the Cyclones scored an impressive 49.075 as a team, setting the tone for the rest of the night. Despite facing tough competition on the uneven bars, where they finished with a score of 48.275, Iowa State maintained their lead in the overall standings.

Individual Standouts

Several Cyclone gymnasts delivered standout performances, with sophomore Noelle Adams and senior Josie Bergstrom-Te Slaa tying for first place in the vault with scores of 9.9. Their consistency and talent have been instrumental in pushing the team to success.

On the uneven bars, sophomore Paige Wills shone bright, securing a third-place finish with a score of 9.775. Fifth-year Lauren Thomas also made her mark on the balance beam, tying for first place with an Iowa gymnast with a score of 9.850.

The floor exercise saw freshman Haylee Hardin and Adams sharing the spotlight, both earning first-place ties with scores of 9.825. Hardin, a standout freshman for the Cyclones, has proven to be a valuable asset to the team, showcasing her skills in multiple events and earning impressive scores.
