So, apparently, the National Weather Service is predicting some pretty wild weather for central Iowa. Get ready for thunderstorms, hail, and high winds coming your way this afternoon and tonight. NWS Meteorologist Donna Dubberke seems pretty confident that those dry areas in the state are finally going to get drenched. She’s throwing out a 90% chance of thunderstorms in the forecast, and it looks like we’re in for a few days of rain until Tuesday rolls around.

According to Dubberke, some places might see up to three inches of rainfall by tomorrow, which could lead to flash flooding along the Interstate 80 corridor and down south. And if you were planning any outdoor activities for Memorial Day weekend, well, you might want to have a backup plan. There’s a chance of rain creeping in late Saturday and sticking around for most of Sunday. Not really sure why this matters, but hey, it’s good to be prepared, right?

As for the rest of the week, it looks like Thursday will bring us highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s. And if you’re wondering when the next chance of rain is, well, we’ve got a 30% shot at some showers for the weekend. Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like Mother Nature is really keeping us on our toes lately. So, grab your umbrella and rain boots, folks, because it’s about to get wet out there.
