Four northwest Iowa organizations are teaming up to bring an exciting event to the area: the “Winter Women in Nature Day” on Saturday, January 11. This event is designed to celebrate women in the great outdoors and promises a day filled with fun activities and new experiences.
The event will take place at Oneota Park at Oneota Cabin in Spencer. Amy Heibult from the Dickinson County Nature Center shared, “Women 18 years and older can join us for just $25, which includes lunch and a stainless steel water bottle.” It’s a fantastic opportunity to bond with nature and like-minded individuals.
Learning and Adventure Await
In the morning session, attendees will have the chance to explore the fascinating world of North American maple trees. They will learn about the process of making maple syrup and the tools used in collecting sap. It’s a unique opportunity to gain insight into this traditional practice.
In the afternoon, participants can choose between two thrilling outdoor activities. They can try their hand at ice fishing at Scharnberg Park or embark on a snowshoe walk and animal tracking adventure. Regardless of the activity chosen, everyone is sure to have a memorable experience.
