Rebecca A. Loftis: A Legacy of Love and Joy

Rebecca Arlene Loftis, a beloved resident of North Iowa, passed away peacefully at her home in Manly on Saturday, December 28, 2024. Born on December 22, 1956, in Missouri Valley, Iowa, Rebecca leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and vibrant energy that touched the lives of all who knew her.

A Life of Love and Devotion

Rebecca was a proud and devoted mother to her three children, Brandy Choate, Gary (Julie) Harms, and Shannon Walker. Her greatest joy in life was raising her children and being a loving grandmother to her grandchildren: Patrick, Gavin, Aubry, Kenadi, and Alexander. She cherished her role as a grandmother, watching her grandchildren grow and being a part of their lives every step of the way.

A Woman of Strength and Hard Work

Rebecca’s work ethic was unmatched, as she continued to work tirelessly until her brief hospital stay just weeks before her passing. As an independent contractor working as a courier, she traveled across Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin, building strong friendships along the way. Her dedication and commitment to her work were truly admirable, reflecting her strong sense of responsibility and integrity.

A Passion for Life’s Treasures

In her free time, Rebecca enjoyed going to auctions and thrift stores, hunting for bargains and treasures. With a collection of over 100 pairs of shoes, her love for footwear was undeniable. She also found joy in visiting the Diamond Jo Casino and traveling to Las Vegas with her family in August. However, her greatest happiness came from being a grandmother and witnessing the growth and accomplishments of her grandchildren.

Remembering Rebecca

Rebecca is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister, numerous extended family members, friends, and her loyal pets, Charlie and Tucker. Her family and loved ones will always remember her as a loving, dedicated, and vibrant woman who brought joy and warmth to everyone she met.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, January 6, 2025, at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel in Mason City, with Pastor Beverly Butler officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, followed by a lunch at the Denison Room. Inurnment will take place at a future date in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Rebecca’s legacy of love and joy will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
