However, the driver, later identified as James Paul Dean Burleson, age 29 of Keokuk, managed to evade the authorities, sparking a pursuit that ended in the 2200 block of Lincoln Avenue.

James Paul Dean Burleson, the driver, faces a laundry list of charges including Eluding – 2nd or Subsequent Offense, Driving While License Barred, Violation of Probation, and over 20 traffic citations. Additionally, Burleson was arrested on a warrant for Eluding – Speed 25 mph Over Limit – 2nd Offense and Driving while License Barred, along with numerous other traffic violations dating back to a previous pursuit.
Lucas James Meyers, age 23 of Keokuk, was also taken into custody on a warrant for Voluntary Absence From Custody out of Des Moines County. Both Burleson and Meyers are currently being held in jail, awaiting further legal proceedings.
