Diverse Athlete Participation

Kennedy expressed excitement over the wide age range of Iowa’s athletes, noting that participants will range from three-year-olds to 90-year-olds. Remarkably, there are even 85-and-older pickleball players registered for the games. The sheer diversity in age groups adds a unique flair to the event, showcasing the inclusivity and passion for sports among Iowans.

Event Details and Locations

The Winter Iowa Games will be held at various venues across the state, mirroring the diversity of sports available. The first event, the pickleball tournament, is scheduled for January 18th and 19th at the University of Dubuque, while the final competition, youth ice hockey, will take place at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines on March 15th and 16th.
