Craig’s journey began at Algona High School and led him to Iowa Lakes Community College, where he obtained his GED, Auto Parts, and Auto Mechanic Certifications. His dedication to learning and hard work paved the way for a successful career in various fields, including Ley Motors in Lakota and a local redimix company where he drove trucks until his retirement.
### Family and Community
Craig’s devotion extended beyond his professional life. On January 16, 1976, he married Debra Bolte, with whom he shared a beautiful life in rural Cylinder before settling in Burt and finally Lakota, IA. Together, they raised two daughters, Doris and Mary, who brought immense joy and love into their lives.

A funeral service to honor Craig’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 6, 2025, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Burt, with burial at St. Luke’s Lutheran Cemetery in Fairville. Visitation will take place from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at Oakcrest Funeral Services in Algona.
