Lyle Arden Davidson, a beloved member of the North Iowa community, passed away at the age of 87 on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
### A Life Well-Lived: Remembering Lyle Davidson
Lyle’s legacy will be honored with funeral services at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, where Pastor Russ Leeper will officiate. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Sunnyside Memory Gardens in rural Charles City. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during visitation starting at 9:30 a.m. at the church on Saturday.
Born on June 16, 1937, to Alfred and Nora Davidson in Charles City, Lyle’s early years were marked by warmth and love within his family. He was baptized at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church on July 18, 1937, and later confirmed there on May 6, 1951. His dedication to his faith and community was a cornerstone of his life.
In September 1957, Lyle married Alice Vera Mae Bunston, and together they raised three children: Cynthia, Mark, and Timothy. Their journey led them from Charles City to Nashua in the summer of 1968, where they established their family home.
Throughout his life, Lyle held various jobs, including positions at George P. Smith, Hydrotile, and Featherlite. His work installing floors in Featherlite trailers provided him with cherished memories, especially when he had the opportunity to meet racecar drivers who utilized the trailers he worked on. Lyle’s commitment to excellence and craftsmanship was evident in all aspects of his life.
One of Lyle’s greatest joys was supporting his children and grandchildren in their endeavors. Whether it was attending their games or lending a patient hand in problem-solving, he demonstrated unwavering love and dedication to his family. His legacy lives on through his sons, Mark and Tim, his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family members who will always cherish his memory.

In the midst of grief, the Davidson family finds solace in the outpouring of love and support from the community. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church for the upcoming parking lot renovation are suggested as a meaningful way to honor Lyle’s memory.

Lyle’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of many, but his spirit will forever remain a guiding light in the lives of those who were fortunate enough to have him as a part of their journey.
