Maynard H. Bochmann, a beloved member of the Hampton community, bid farewell to this world on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at the age of 82, surrounded by his family at the Good Shepherd Health Center in Mason City. The news of his passing has left a void in the hearts of many who knew him. ### Fond Memories and Lasting Legacy

Maynard Henry Bochmann was born in Waverly to Henry and Velma (Allan) Bochmann. He was an alumnus of Allison High School and tied the knot with his beloved Deborah Grapp on June 9, 1972, in Cedar Falls. Maynard’s life was filled with diverse experiences and passions that endeared him to those around him.

### A Man of Many Talents

In his youth, Maynard worked as a farmer before dedicating 27 years of service to the Iowa Department of Transportation, where he excelled in his role. His craftsmanship as a woodworker was unparalleled, and his knack for collecting fishing equipment, despite not being an ardent angler, was well-known. Maynard’s weekends were spent scouring rummage sales and auctions with Deb, cherishing the simple pleasure of sharing morning coffee with friends at Hardees and indulging in weekly popcorn rituals on Sunday nights. His love for classic cars was a constant source of joy and fascination for him.

### A Family Man and Friend

Maynard is survived by his loving wife, Deb Bochmann of Hampton; daughter, Michelle (Mike) Studer of Waterloo; grandsons, Lance (Erica) Studer of Hampton and Logan (Katlin) Studer of Denver; great-grandchildren: Lane and Raelynn Studer of Hampton; Alice and Melanie Studer of Denver; brothers, Charles (Joyce) Bochmann of Clarksville and James (Sharon) Bochmann of Greene; along with several nieces and nephews. The loss of his parents, daughter Christi Kay Bochmann, and great-grandson Baylee Studer has deeply affected those who held Maynard dear to their hearts.

Maynard H. Bochmann’s legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will forever remain etched in the memories of those who were fortunate enough to know him. His presence will be dearly missed, but his spirit will continue to live on through the stories and moments shared with him. May his soul rest in peace.
