Carol Maxine was born on January 20, 1928, in Orthel Township, Hancock County, near Britt, to parents Lyal and Anna (Sillman) Fox. She received her education at a rural school in Orthel Township and graduated from Britt High School in 1945. Carol dedicated four years of her life to teaching in a rural one-room school. She tied the knot with Harlan Nuehring on June 5, 1948, and they were blessed with three daughters: Peggy, Patricia, and Donna.
**Community Involvement**
Carol’s life was characterized by a deep commitment to her community. During her time in Klemme, she was actively involved in various organizations, such as the Women’s Fellowship of the Klemme United Church of Christ, the Klemme Potpourri Women’s Club, and the Klemme Music Mothers. She also served as a substitute teacher in both Klemme and Garner public schools.

After marrying Chris Schulz in 1982 and relocating to Corwith, Carol continued her community engagement by participating in the Corwith Women’s Club and the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed hobbies like golfing, bicycling, gardening, and spending winters in Florida. Carol’s dedication to her family was evident through her love for her grandchildren, step-grandchildren, and great-granddaughters.

Carol Schulz peacefully passed away on January 20, 2025, at the age of 97, at Good Shepherd Health Center in Mason City. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and community spirit that will be cherished by all who knew her. Survived by her daughters, grandchildren, stepchildren, and sister, Carol’s memory will live on in the hearts of those whose lives she touched.
