Life Story of Dianne Wemark

Born on February 26, 1944, to Bob and Marge (Joerger) Qvern, Dianne spent her early years in Cresco, where she worked at Pinky’s CafĂ© during high school. She continued her journey by graduating from Notre Dame High School and attending LeJames Beauty School. Dianne’s career path led her to The Crown before she married Denis Wemark on July 7, 1967.

A Life of Love and Family

Together, Dianne and Denis raised five children: Julie, Amy, Jeffrey, Anne, and Sara. Their family grew as Dianne opened her own shop, the Curly Q, in Ridgeway, eventually relocating it to their farm’s front porch. A woman of many talents, Dianne later ventured into the culinary world, delighting many with her early morning cinnamon raisin biscuits at Hardee’s before joining the hospital kitchen staff in Cresco.

Legacy of Community and Faith

Beyond her family and career, Dianne’s impact extended to the community. She served as an active 4-H leader for the Lincoln Sunflowers, taught Sunday and Bible School, and wholeheartedly participated in events at Peace Lutheran Church. Her storytelling and memories enchanted all who had the pleasure of listening.

Remembering Dianne Wemark

Dianne is survived by her children, grandchildren, siblings, brother-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom hold her memory dear. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, parents, sister, in-laws, and other cherished family members.

As friends and family gather to celebrate Dianne’s life, funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Peace Lutheran Church in Ridgeway. Prior visitation will take place at Schmelzer Funeral Home in Cresco on Friday, January 3, 2025.

Dianne’s journey may have reached its end, but her spirit of love and kindness will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched. Her legacy serves as a reminder of the profound impact one individual can have on a community. Rest in peace, Dianne Wemark.
