Daisy Bentrott: A Life Well-Lived and Remembered
Daisy Bentrott, a beloved member of the Hampton community, passed away at the age of 86 on January 4, 2025, at Franklin General Hospital under the care of Care Initiatives Hospice. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Oakdale Memorial Gardens in Davenport. Woodley Funeral Home and Crematory of Hampton is assisting the Bentrott family during this difficult time.
Early Life and Family
Daisy Alma Bentrott was born on Christmas morning in 1938 in Muscatine, Iowa, to Henry and Alma Dohrmund. She graduated from Wilton High School in 1957 before marrying Allen Dean Bentrott on January 18, 1959, at the Wilton Zion Lutheran Church. The couple had four children and shared a life filled with love and dedication to each other.
Career and Community Involvement
Daisy spent years providing daycare services in Tipton before transitioning to a dietary aide position at Franklin General Hospital in Hampton in 1980. After relocating to Durant, she assisted her husband with the star mail route before retiring in 2001 and moving back to Hampton. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Red Hat Society, finding joy in playing cards, Bingo, reading, and supporting her grandchildren at their sporting events.
Survived by a Loving Family
Daisy is survived by her children, Mary, Dean, Donna, son-in-law Kenneth, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother Donald, sister-in-law Elgeva, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Beth, and great-granddaughter Alexis.

In honor of Daisy’s memory, memorials can be directed to the Bentrott Family and sent to Woodley Funeral Home in Hampton. Her impact on the community and her family will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
