Born on September 9, 1928, in Olney, IL, she passed away peacefully on January 5, 2025, at Oakwood Care Center in Clear Lake, IA. Her memory will be honored at a Memorial Service on Friday, March 7, 2025, at the Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel in Mason City, IA, followed by her final resting place at Rock Falls Cemetery.

Max’s journey was nothing short of remarkable. Growing up in Illinois, she spent her formative years with her maternal grandparents and attended Olney High School. After entering the workforce, she explored various fields before discovering her passion as a locksmith. She dedicated decades to honing her craft at Central Lock and Key, owned by her brother, until her retirement in the late 1990s. In 1989, she found love again and married Sam Donisi, adding another chapter to her already rich tapestry of life.

Max was a woman of many talents and passions. Her expertise as a locksmith was unparalleled, reflecting her dedication to excellence in all she pursued. Beyond her professional achievements, she found solace in her expansive acreage in Rock Falls, where she delighted in observing nature’s beauty from her window. A voracious reader and lifelong learner, she embraced new ideas and had a keen interest in healthy living. Her creativity knew no bounds, evident in her flair for painting, crafting, and adorning her home with warmth and love. She is survived by her children, Sue Frauli, Rod (Sandy) Kimpling, Bobbi (Craig) Lewin, and Ken Kimpling, along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, stepchildren, and extended family members. While her passing leaves a void in their hearts, her memory will forever be a beacon of light, guiding them through life’s journey.
