CLEAR LAKE – Tragedy struck Clear Lake yesterday as a person enjoying the serene waters made a harrowing discovery – a body floating in the water. This grim sighting prompted a swift response from authorities, leading to the identification of the deceased as 59-year-old Bradley Church of Joice, Iowa.
Drone Confirms Tragic Discovery
On December 28, 2024, at 4:27 PM, Cerro Gordo county deputies were called to North Shore Drive and East Lake Street near the lake’s aerator following a report from a sportsman who had spotted what appeared to be a body in the water. To confirm the report, a drone was deployed to scan the open water, ultimately confirming the heartbreaking news.

With the confirmation of the tragic discovery, fire crews from Clear Lake and Ventura fire department sprang into action to retrieve the body. Despite the best efforts of rescue teams, Bradley Church’s life could not be saved.
