Gerald “Jerry” Lee Jurasek, 89, a cherished resident of Mason City, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2025, at the Good Shepherd Health Center. His life will be celebrated at Trinity Lutheran Church on January 24, 2025, with a service starting at 10:30 a.m. Military Honors will be paid by the Mason City Veteran’s Association.

Jerry was born on March 28, 1935, in Mason City, Iowa, to Frank and Francis Jurasek. He grew up in Mason City, attending local schools before serving in the Air Force as a B52 mechanic. After his military service, Jerry returned to Mason City, where he met and married his wife, Viola. Together, they built a beautiful family that brought them immense joy.
### A Family Man and Community Member
Jerry was not only a devoted husband and father but also an active member of his community. He spent 35 years working as a heavy equipment diesel mechanic and was a lifelong member of the local VFW Post 733. His love for fishing, golf, and spending time with loved ones defined his retirement years, filled with travel and cherished family moments.

Jerry’s legacy lives on through his wife, children, grandchildren, and extended family. His love, kindness, and dedication to those around him will forever be remembered and cherished.
